Font Management in Leopard
Is there any way around this, such as perhaps with some sort of font management software? Absolutely. I go nuts when I have more than 25 fonts active at one time through Suitcase 8. I can't imagine having 128 at one time. I've tried every font management utility out there... right now I'm pleased with Suitcase 8,

It's important to use just one font manager. You do need ATM (unless you're on Win2K) but once ATM is installed, just leave it alone to do its rasterizing job behind the scenes and use only Font Navigator for your font management chores -- otherwise Windows and your apps can get confused. -- - Franca =^.

For the xlib backend we are currently supporting three different implementations of the font management, just to keep everybody happy. GNUstep is about choice, not about forcing people to use things in the one and only way. I don't mind if there are other ways to get the a list of usable fonts beside the FontConfig

I have been using Font Navigator for some time, but get fed-up with it because inevitably it always corrupts my system files.
